Well, this is a very early stage compilation of the designs I'm working on for a zodiac set. At the center of each one is a stone associated with the sign, and within the layers I've added the symbol for the sign, the constellation, and the alchemical symbol for the element associated with it. I'm debating adding the name for the sign in some sort of pretty text in the outer circle or square, but I'm not sure yet. I also haven't decided whether I want the layers to be the same with just a sign appropriate color change, or if I want to do something different for each one.
I'll list the stones I chose below and the primary color(s) I'll be using for each sign. In the research I did for this, there's a lot of variance on what "the stone" for each sign is and of course the symbols vary slightly in appearance depending on what resource you look at. In general I went with a stone that I liked and felt like I could decently represent and with a symbol that I liked for reference, so of course, there may be some differences from what you may have learned is associated with a specific sign, but I'm not especially well read in that area, so I had to go on pure (time constrained) research.
Signs are listed in order from left to right, top to bottom.
* Capricorn: Lapis Lazuli, dark blue and brown * Aquarius: Turquoise, turquoise/teal * Pisces: Aquamarine, sea-green * Aries: Jasper, red * Taurus: Emerald, green * Gemini: Citrine, yellow * Cancer: Moonstone, silver and violet * Leo: Onyx, orange and black/grays * Virgo: Peridot, green * Libra: Sapphire, dark blue * Scorpio: Ruby, red * Sagittarius: Amethyst, purple
(Some of the colors may change as the designs develop.)
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
