Magic by Cyname Painted

I stumbled across this awesome bit of lineart by at the and really fell for it. It's such a fun looking piece with the great styling of the genie character and the awesome, intricate swirls of magic coming out of the bottle. I knew that I wanted to paint it, and since that's what the lineart was specifically provided for, I downloaded it and here are the results.

I tried to emulate (to an extent) the bright colors and the highlight and shadow style of Lisa Frank, because this piece really reminds me of something you'd find in a collection by her. I don't usually do this many highlights, so it was fun to experiment and try something new, and the swirls were just awesome to play around with. I loved the fact that I could just splash a color here and a different one there and still come out with something that looked good. I'm more than open to any advice or suggestions on how I can improve what I've done.

Thanks again to and the for providing me with such a great piece of lineart. I really had fun, and it was a nice change from the normal stuff I do.
