Chinese Monarch

This is the fourth in my butterfly series. The patterns for this one were inspired by traditional Chinese designs.

The background color for displaying this image gave me quite the run-around for awhile. I wanted to maintain the same general color tones as I used for the patterns, but several different attempts just left me unsure of where to go. I left the image finished for all intents and purposes for a couple of days just trying to find that background.

I hope all of you are having a good December so far. For those of you already celebrating your seasonal holiday, I hope it's gone well. For those still waiting for yours to come, best wishes for a great one.
